What are Dermal Fillers?
A dermal filler, sometimes also know as a soft tissue filler, are predominantly hyaluronic acid based gels that can be used to enhance, correct and restore areas of concern such as smoothing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles or adding volume to areas such as the cheeks or lips.
As you age, your body starts to lose collagen. Collagen is an important substance that exists all over your body, including in your skin, muscles, bones and connective tissues. Decreased amounts of collagen in your skin causes skin laxity (loose) and loss of volume. Skin becomes thinner, loses its elasticity and starts to sag.
How do Fillers work?
Dermal fillers work by boosting the skin’s supply of hyaluronic acid, dermal fillers revitalise and add volume to the skin, instantly diminishing the appearance of lines and wrinkles, and giving a natural softer look. Dermal fillers are a soft injectable gel consisting of stabilized, non-animal hyaluronic acid.
By injecting small amounts or filler into areas such as the Marionette, Nasolabial lines, cheeks and lips with a fine needle and topical anaesthetic. The end results are plumper volumised skin, results are instant but get better as a couple of weeks pass.
Fillers can also be used to change the appearance of the nose, chin and jaw line. Creating harmony with the profile.
